REACH participation model
RESEARCH
Participating students identify nonhuman primates to study. They study the primates' natural habitat and the social, economic, and political climate of the primates' native country. What factors threaten the livelihood of the nonhuman primates being studied.
ENGAGE
Students engage a school, zoo, or primate orphanage to form a pen pal, email, or video conferencing relationship to learn more about the local culture so that they can be more effective as primate ambassadors.
ACTIVATE
Students activate their learning and relationship building by developing a plan to make a difference, raise money to support causes, speak at relevant events. What will the success measures or key performance indicators be?
COMMUNICATE
Communicate on a regular basis with nonprofits and buddy school/organization. Post chapter updates to social media in accordance with school policies.
HELP
Students make a difference and evaluate success relative to success measures/key performance indicators.
